I recently finished the first season of Re: Zero and it's safe to say I love it.

I'll start with that, the things I love.

I love how brutal it is every time Subaru dies, and I love how his deaths are always taken seriously despite the fact that he'll just respawn, and I absolutely love how much every one of his deaths MESS him UP, because obviously! Dying isn't something you can just walk off, ever since he was transported to this world, it's been buckets upon buckets of trauma, and the show displays all that and the struggles Subaru goes through SO perfectly, I love it!

I wasn't expecting to like Subaru as much as I did, but I got really invested in him as the show progressed, he's very likable and his growth throughout the first season was really well done.

I freaking love the mansion arc, I freaking love Rem (I think everyone does, in fact), and for good reason, I love the first time he dies, and it's just so confusing and upsetting, it was such a great moment! There are so many twists and turns all throughout the mansion, or at least, that's what I would say if I hadn't predicted BOTH times who the perpetrator was! first I guessed Rem, and then Rem freaking brutally killed Subaru and it was a really upsetting but amazing scene, and then when Subaru's trying to figure out who cursed him, I was spot on with the dog, they just gave the dog way too much attention for it not to be important! My predicting these things only improved the experience, it was so much fun, man.

I don't think I need to explain why I love Rem, do I?

Oh, I also love Beatrice and Roswaal, I still don't really know how to feel about Ram.

My biggest issue with this anime so far is Emilia, I just don't care about her at all, she is easily the weakest character in the show, she's usually just the damsel in distress and it could not be more boring. My lack of investment in her is a pretty big issue I'd say since she's... y'know... the romantic interest and one of the people trying to become the ruler or whatever? I'm all for romantic sub-plots, I think they can be really fun, I think they can bring a lot of good stuff to a story, I think they can help really explore 2 characters, the 2 characters maybe grow stronger together, or maybe it doesn't work out in the end, who really knows? It's very tricky getting a romantic sub-plot just right, and it is quite easy for one to fall flat, for me, the romance between Subaru and Emilia is very much so falling flat at the moment, I kinda just wish Rem was the romantic interest for Subaru since I'm extremely invested in both her and Subaru already so...

Some of these characters are understandable, like Beli, Clind and Ubilk, but Priscilla and Liliana, I am not too sure.

Again, I apologize for bringing up this topic again, but one side of the argument would be spreading misinformation. If this is canon, like this account says, I feel the wiki needs reflect it.

I noticed that some important characters have their own named chapters. As I understand in these chapters, they get a lot of character development. But I'm not sure. Also the question is, is it possible to have several named chapters? I remember that Subaru already has a chapter in arc 6. I just thought he might get another chapter in future arcs

I guess that because of the cultists and, the witches like Satella, I have the sensation of seeing that style of creating something that is unknown at the same time terrifying, in the children book is said: “A scary witch, a truly terrifying witch. To even speak her name would chill you to the bone. Everybody referred to her as... the Witch of Envy.„ so, I really guess that this is Lovecraftian description of fear, because at the point that this is presented to us in the light novel we yet not knew nothing about the witch, and Emilia looks extremely beautiful to us, how something that looks like Emilia can be "scary"? that passes the Idea of fear to me, and the other reason is about the cultists, who has read some work of H.P Lovecraft know that cultism is a relevant characteristic inside the Lovecraftian universe, for example in the Call of Cthulhu, in Cthulhu Mythos we have the cultists, various cults that appear in the series that adore Cthulhu, but not only Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep, and the idiot god Azathot have cults also, and various of its cultists are crazy just like the cultists of the witch besides the fact of the authorities can take someone, that is not compatible with, to the craziness and craziness is something that is common in the Lovecraftian tales because of that characteristics I guess, not think, I guess, that Tappei Nagatsuki has read something ligated with the Lovecraftian universe or have some reference with, because its too much coincidences to me.

Watching this anime for the first time, my brother says that "The first part is good, and the first part of the second part is good, and past that, everything is bad." And most of the time I usually enjoy what he enjoys, and dislikes what he dislikes, we have pretty similar tastes, so I'll probably agree with him at when it gets to that point, but I dunno.

Subaru is really easy to dislike tbh, "eHhEhhehE, cute girl, wheRe da cut gurl dat sent mEh herE???" Not really a single thing that I like about him at the moment, he's also extremely dumb. As he somehow can't figure out that when he dies, he gets sent back in time, not that hard to figure out, when it happens the first time, I mean, y'know it's understandable, you're confused and everything, but when it happens a second time, there's no excuse. If I was in this situation, I would've gotten it the first time I died, but that might just be because I have a 5 head.

But then when he dies the second time, (I'm watching this with 2 of my brothers btw) my brother said: "Ok, so he's figured it out now," then my other brother (the one who has watched this before) said "Would you believe me if I said 'he hasn't'?" 🤦

But, Subaru aside, the concept is a really cool one, and when Subaru is getting killed each time, it is done really well, the villain is good, she scary 😨. Overall I am liking it so far.

Satella is the most innocent of the witches change my mind I’ll wait

So I've been thinking about it since last week after Pandora re-named Guese to Petelguese when he absorbed the Witch Factors. Based on that and the fact that when Satella joined Echidna's TP, Typhon called her Tella (or Terra).

----START OF THEORY----

1) Terra in Roman myths is Mother Earth. So let's say Satella's true name was Terra and after she absorbed the Witch Factors, Pandora named her Satella (Saterra).

Sa as an Egyptian hieroglyph means "Protection". As we know, she was incompatible with those factors and nearly covered the world with her shadows. So maybe that "Sa" implies that the WoE tried to "Protect" the world (earth) by covering it with her shadows.

2) Sa is also a chinese surname coming out of Semu. According to the Wikipedia, as a name, it meant "Assorted Categories" emphasizing the Ethnic Diversity between Semu people. And we know Satella is a half-human half-elf so the "Sa" gives emphasis on that fact.

About the 2) tbh in the beginning i thought of it as a way to like seperate Elves from everyone else since everyone hated Elves after what Satella did and they were forced to hide themselves. But it didn't really make sense with the word's meaning to me since it doesn't tend on racism. But correct me if i'm wrong.
