The author previously stated on numerous occasions that he only had plans for 11 story arcs in total, beginning in September 2013,[1] and remaining that way for several years, with the plan for 11 arcs still being true as of the 10th anniversary Twitter space held in April 2022.[2] However, he later chose to split Arc 7 into two separate arcs, creating a new story arc outside of his old plans.
As the original plan for Arc 7 changed and it was split into two separate arcs, it can be assumed that the author's original statements about Arc 11 now apply to Arc 12.
As of January 2, 2018, Frederica’s main arc was stated to be in Arc 11.[3]
On April 20, 2022, the author stated that the main arcs for Felt and Reinhard would be in the later half of the story, those being around Arc 9, Arc 10, and Arc 11.[4]
As stated by the author, all of the Witches will reappear in the final arc.[5]
According to the author, the meaning of Satella's name will be revealed in the final arc.[6]
As of July 27, 2014, the author expressed that the final arc would be the longest arc in the series and claimed that twice the length of Arc 3 would probably not be enough to completely cover it.[7]
The author has indicated that Beatrice’s birthday would be a spoiler until the final arc.[8]
The most important arcs in the story are the first arc and the final arc.[9]
