Halibel (ハリベル) is a citizen of Kararagi who is known throughout the world as the Admirer, one of the three people said to be on par with the Kingdom's Reinhard van Astrea in terms of overall martial skill, alongside the Empire's Cecilus Segmunt and the Holy Kingdom's Vague Adgard.
Appearance[]
Halibel is a wolf human with relatively long black fur clad in a dishevelled black kimono possessing worn-down purple accents. His large height makes him tower over a fully-grown Subaru like a black statue covered in fur, and his golden eyes are usually narrowed into two slits. He often likes biting on his golden kiseru with his teeth. More often than not, Halibel gives off a rather laid-back air through his appearance.
Personality[]
Halibel has a casual behaviour and likes the taste of liquor and free alcohol. Although he shows total respect towards others, he can be a bit too serious when talking about his race, since his species are rare and on the verge of extinction, often mentioning that he feels like carrying the pride of his kind.
Abilities[]
Curse Arts (呪術, Jujutsu): Halibel is an expert in curse arts. Killing curses are his trump card, and he fuses pieces of his own fur or nails that he cursed into his weapons to cast a curse that, no matter what, will kill his opponent.[1] However, these curses are not compatible with beings that are already dead, such as the zombies in Vollachia.[2]
Great Power: Halibel is an extremely skilled Shinobi, able to easily overpower most people he faces off. He is considered the strongest individual from the Kararagi City-States. His main weapons of choice are the kunai, which he uses in close quarters combat as well as throwing daggers. The thrown kunai are described to travel at beyond human speeds. Halibel is thought to be comparable to Reinhard van Astrea's level of martial skill and melee.
Cloning: Halibel is able to clone himself into four. Perhaps the biggest upside to his cloning ability is that each and every clone is identical to the original specimen, including their strength, meaning that rather than splitting his fighting strength into four "pieces", he quadruples it. The clones are also able to act independently.
Trivia[]
- As a result of the stigma that has surrounded wolf humans and werewolves for nearly 300 years, Halibel is the only one of his kind who publicly professes his identity.
- The reason Halibel keeps a kiseru with him is because he needs to smoke a special herb to keep himself alive.
- Despite being among the three characters who are said to be on par with Reinhard in terms of martial skill, when the two faced off in Oboreru IF, Reinhard did not draw the Dragon Sword Reid against him.
- Before Halibel's introduction in Arc 8, the author expressed uncertainty regarding whether or not he would make an appearance in the main story.[3]
