Hornet (ホーネット) was a gladiator at the Gladiator Island Ginunhive. During the Gladiator Island insurgence covered in Ex 5, she helped the uprising's mastermind, Ubilk, attempt to free the island from the mainland, knowing it would end in failure. She was killed during her fight with Al and Arakiya by being poisoned, dying a non-honourary death against her wishes.

In Arc 8, Hornet appears as a zombie during the Great Disaster, facing off against Goz Ralfon outside the Fortified City of Garkla.

Appearance

Hornet is a tall woman over two meters in height, towering over her opponents. She has short black hair with her sides shaved and coloured light purple, deep purplish-red eyes, and tends to dress herself in a black and yellow body suit. Finally, before battle, Hornet always put on her two black and light-purple swords which she wears as prosthetics. The blades were so heavy that she was required to have at least two people put them on.

Personality

Hornet tended to often tease or flirt with people she either respected or was relatively close with, such as Al and Ubilk. However, in combat, Hornet was a nasty and brutal fighter who disregarded a fair fight. Contrary to expectations, Hornet's most fervent and desired wish was to gloriously die in combat against someone who could overpower her.

History

At some point in time, Hornet came to the Gladiator Island Ginunhive, where she spent the rest of her life fighting in the arena. In an incident four years prior to the uprising, all of the gladiators on the island fought a large Demon Beast. The only two survivors of this battle were Hornet herself and Al. After the incident, she grew an interest in Al after having initially thought of him as small fry. Right before the uprising at Ginunhive, she joined Ubilk's rebellion in the hopes that she would get to fight Al. Although she easily overpowered him when they finally crossed blades, he used his ability in order to cheat death 79 times, nearly bleeding out in the process until Arakiya saved him. In the end, after Al returned and tried to defeat her 713 more times, totalling to 792 deaths in all, Hornet died a non-honorable death from poisoning after Al asked Arakiya to burn the body of a shinobi who used a technique known as the Poison Hand.

Abilities

Considerable Strength: Hornet is an extremely skilled fighter. Before meeting Olbart Dunkelkenn, Al described her as the third or fourth strongest person he had met in his life.

Equipment: As she had lost her arms during her time on the Gladiator Island, Hornet wielded two giant prosthetic arm swords which she wielded as her main weapons.
