Information

Katya Aurélie (カチュア・オーレリー) is Jamal's sister and Todd's wife. She is a noble from the Aurélie family and has been prone to illnesses from a very young age. She played a supporting role in Arc 7 and Arc 8.

Following the Great Disaster, she and Todd married, and the two eloped, with their whereabouts remaining unknown.

Appearance[]

Katya is a fair-skinned woman who possesses a weak and slender body resulting from her poor health. Much like her brother, she has messy and unkempt dark brown hair parted in two pigtails on both sides of her head and a rough blue-eyed gaze. She wears formal grey and white clothes with multiple decorations, including a yellow and cyan triangular emblem just below her neck, patterns composed of the same colors in stripes or diamonds, and a purple floral design at the bottom of her dress.

As a consequence of her constitution, Katya is required to use a wheelchair. The wheelchair's primary color is black, its cushions are purple, and the chair itself also has golden motifs alongside its edges. In order to facilitate her forwards or backwards navigation, Katya can turn the rims of the wheelchair in order to move around.

Personality[]

Katya's behavior while being held hostage in Berstetz Fondalfon's mansion is timid, fearful, and cautious. She appears cold, easily flustered, and quick to anger; often biting her fingernails, chewing on her lips, muttering to herself, and stammering when under stress.

She habitually conceals her true emotions behind a mask of arrogant indifference, deliberately trying to appear harsh and cold to those around her. Despite her longing for companionship and love, she tends to distance herself from those who try to get close to her. Hence, it took persistent effort on Rem’s part to get Katya to become more comfortable and trusting around her.

She isn’t bold and is often unsure if her own opinions are valid. She is terrified of death and desperately avoids dangerous situations, always trying to take the safest path. Although Katya cannot be described as a courageous person, her mentality is not one of cowardice but rather that of a kindhearted and peace-loving person who has been traumatized by her circumstances. When she sensed that Madelyn might harm Rem in anger, she found the strength to speak up and attempt to de-escalate the situation, despite being terrified of the divine general. Her actions were a testament to her selflessness, as she put herself at risk to protect her friend.

Katya is possibly an example of the psychological toll that growing up in the Vollachia Empire, with its fervent belief in strength above all else, can have on an average person who isn’t blessed with physical strength. While in the mansion, she seems to be in a perpetual state of stress and anxiety, and is vigilant against revealing any weakness that could be exploited, especially when talking about those close to her. While her past remains mostly shrouded, her life thus far appears to have been one of great suffering and heartbreak, including the loss of those who were close to her. She attributes these misfortunes to her own terrible luck and incompetence, even blaming herself for any harm that befalls those around her. Her self-esteem is painfully low, viewing herself as selfish, helpless, and undeserving of love and companionship. Despite her fear of death and desire for survival, Katya's actions show compassion and concern for others. Though she refuses to admit it openly, she is deeply in love with Todd Fang and trusts him wholeheartedly.
