Mariuli Shudrak (マリウリ・シュドラク) was a member of the People of Shudrak and a former Stargazer. She was first mentioned in Arc 7 as Taritta's soul sister, since both of them were born on the same day, and she was also Utakata's mother.
Though she loved to raise and care for the Shudrakian children in place of her lacking huntress skills and frail body, as a Stargazer, she was chosen by the observers to complete their commandments. On her deathbed, she entrusted her last commandment - to kill the black-haired individual who would appear in the jungle - to Taritta, before ending her own life before sickness could claim her.

Mariuli was described to be a beautiful woman with black hair of which the tips were died pink.
Personality[]
She was said to be a gentle and calm person. Kind at heart, she spent much of her days helping around the village and looking after the kids, singing to them. According to Taritta, her voice was so beautiful that every time the tribe had a feast, everyone would ask her to sing to them, which she happily obliged. Unlike most other Shudrakians, however, Mariuli did not feel at peace by simply living, breathing and dying the Shudrakian way, and sought meaning to her birth and life. When on her death bed, the thing she most lamented wasn't the impending doom or the fact she won't see her child anymore, but the fact she had lived out her life without fulfilling her supposed destiny and killing the one who was supposed to bring the Empire to ruin years following her death.
History[]
Having been born on the same day as Taritta, the two have therefore been named soul sisters; an ancient Shudrak tradition dictating that two individuals born on the very same day are connected via their souls. Hence, ever following their birth, Taritta and Mariuli were inseparable. Throughout her early life, however, Mariuli had been plagued by ill health, spending much of her days bedridden and was therefore bestowed the role of a guardian; one of the two jobs widely claimed throughout the tribe, subserving her status amongst the tribeswomen as someone who's in charge of cooking, taking care of the kids and defending the settlement if necessary. At some point in her life, however, Mariuli had been blessed by the stars and was chosen as a Stargazer which granted her a very special task to fulfil, which she kept referring to as her "commandment". Following her revelation, Mariuli started to change according to Taritta; she started singing new songs unfamiliar to her fellow members of the tribe and continuously blessed the village with knowledge inaccessible to someone who was yet to set food outside the jungle and interact with the outside world. At some point, she had a child and gave birth to Utakata.
Due to her ill health, however, she soon found herself bedridden, this time however, on death's door. In her final moments, Mariuli conveyed her commandment as a Stargazer to Taritta, asking her to find the black haired and black eyed traveller who was supposedly about to trigger the Great Disaster which will plunge the Empire into ruin, and kill them, before plunging Taritta's knife deep into her chest, dying soon afterwards.
Abilities[]
Weak Constitution: Due to her frail body and ill health, Mariuli wasn't a very capable warrior. In fact, she was so incapable with the bow that if she was given one and was told to shoot a hundred arrows towards a target, she'd likely miss all hundred of them.
Stargazer: As a Stargazer, she was given commandments by the observers. It is due to this that she was granted bits of knowledge that she should not have been privy to, such as the songs sung by other stargazers. That said, it is also the cause of her seeming change in personality and nigh fanaticism.
