Satella (サテラ) is the Witch of Envy.
Appearance
Satella is rumored to have silver hair and Elven ears, it also being noted in stories that she is an Half-Elf
Personality
Contrary to popular belief, Satella and the Witch of Envy are separate personalities, formed when she took in incompatible Witch Genes. The two personalities tend to fight each other.
Background
400 years prior to Subaru's arrival, the Six Witches roamed the world in peace, untill Satella, a silver-haired half elf female forced herself to become a witch, without being a proper vessel to do so.
Becomming a witch caused Satella to suffer from a multiple personality disorder. As the Witch of Envy she went on a rampage, killing and absorbing the other Six Witches of Sin and nearly destroying the world.
Even with the combined efforts of the Dragon, Sword Saint, and Sage, they were unable to end her, instead merely sealing her. Even to this day, Satella is sealed in the "Grand Falls" (sealed behind a waterfall)
However, Satella, the Witch of Envy, still has a great influence on this world to this day, even through the seal. Speaking her name out loud is considerd a taboo.
