Taritta Shudrak (タリッタ・シュドラク) is a member of the People of Shudrak located in the depths of the Buddheim Jungle, in the Empire of Vollachia. She made her debut in Arc 7.
After Arakiya's attack in Guaral, Mizelda decided to give Taritta her title of Chieftain of the People of Shudrak after losing her right leg and being unable to fulfil the duties of the Shudraks' Chieftain.
Appearance[]
Taritta is a tall woman with brown skin and black hair, which has been dyed blue at the tips. Like her Shudrak counterparts, she wears revealing clothing with big round golden earrings. During the siege of Guaral, she dressed to appear as an exotic dancer. On the road to Chaosflame, she wore a white dress shirt with a bow tie under a purple blazer and purple dress jeans.
Personality[]
Unlike most of her people, Taritta is reserved and highly unconfident about her abilities despite being a warrior. She feels disappointment for perceiving herself to have inferior abilities to her older sister, so she consequentially allows herself to be ordered around by other people. However, when she is hunting, Taritta is calm and efficient in executing techniques to finish a prey off.
Her lack of confidence stems from guilt for the death of her soul sister, Mariuli, as Taritta holds herself responsible for her death and believes that she let Mariuli die. She shows hatred to the stars that changed Mariuli by choosing her as a Stargazer. Believing they contributed to her early death, she would disobey their will and break her promise with Maruli if she judged it to be the right thing.
History[]
Taritta was born on the same day as Mariuli, her soul sister. The two were inseparable while growing up. Unlike her soul sister, Taritta was able to become a hunter like her most of the other Shudraks, while Mariuli took care of the children due to her frail constitution. Eventually, Mariuli became a Stargazer and soon became very sick, almost reaching her demise. Before her death, she told Taritta of her "commandment", being a mission to kill a traveler with black hair and black eyes in order to prevent them from triggering the "Great Disaster", which would spell the end for the Empire. After relaying her commandment, Mariuli plunged Taritta's knife into her chest and died as a result, with Utakata witnessing this event.
Due to the circumstances of having her knife found in Mariuli's chest, Taritta was initially suspected of murdering Mariuli, but Utakata defended her innocence. After the the incident was settled, Taritta resolved day after day to carrying out Mariuli's commandment on her behalf, and she waited patiently like a hunter for the "traveler" foretold by the commandment to appear.
Abilities[]
Skilled Markswoman: Just like her fellow Shudraks, Taritta is very skilled with her bow. She can easily dispatch her targets from afar.
