Information |
Weitz Rogen (ヴァイツ・ログン) is a former gladiator at the Gladiator Island Ginunhive and a member of Subaru's Unit during the latter's stay on the island who later joined the Pleiades Battalion. He made his debut in Arc 7.
Appearance[]
Weitz is a well-built bald man with black eyes. Most of his body, including his arms, legs, chest, and head are covered with blue tattoos.
Personality[]
Weitz is an antisocial and cowardly man who talks in a low, hushed voice. His treatment towards others is blunt and often accompanied with threats. Weitz wishes to be treated normally, but since he never had the opportunity to be trusted by those around him, he began to act how he was perceived. However, under the surface, Weitz is a loyal and trusting individual. In return for being kind towards him, Weitz offers genuine help and shows respect to those who extend him a hand.
History[]
Weitz was born in Glarasia, a city where the Empire's arms are primarily manufactured. As an orphan, he started working at city's workshops in return for food. Weitz aimed to be normal, but due to his introverted nature, he never talked to anyone. As time passed, people started regarding him as mysterious and creepy. One day, when some stocked materials from a workshop he frequently worked at went missing, Weitz was falsely accused of illegally stealing and selling the materials. Unable to disprove the allegations, a tattoo was inked onto Weitz's body, which branded him as a criminal. After he was no longer accepted into working, Weitz was ironically forced to steal materials from workshops in order to stay alive, fully embracing his status as a criminal. As a result of this, Weitz quit trying to be normal and instead chose to become someone who would be viewed as dangerous. To achieve this goal, he voluntarily covered himself in them from head to toe in more tattoos.
Eventually, Weitz had heard a rumour over a drink, and he discovered the identity of the man who had initially falsely accused him through it. Weitz would later retaliate by beating him and biting his ear off. Intending to leave the man beside him crying, shouting, and bleeding, he suddenly found himself surrounded by guards. After being forced to surrender, he quickly spit the man's ear before being apprehended and sent to jail. Weitz was consequentially sent to the Gladiator Island as his punishment.
Abilities[]
Equipment: Weitz has wielded a large two-handed hammer and was somewhat well-trained with it despite having amateur movements while using it.
Trivia[]
- Weitz has his own named chapter in Arc 7, in both the web novel and light novels.
- Weitz's name is likely based on the German word "zwei", meaning "two".
