A timeline of all known incidents that happened in the world of Re:Zero.

Notes

This timeline is based on the Re:Zero material that is given in the Anime, Manga, Light Novel, and Web Novel.

Be aware that the historical events listed are seldom expanded upon, so details, especially concerning when they may have taken place, are not concrete.

The characters within the story rarely describe historical events within helpful context, so the unit BA, “Before Arrival”, and AA, “After Arrival”, will be used to place moments in time with the best available knowledge. Both are in reference to Natsuki Subaru’s arrival in the new world. Also, note that the units are not official.

The events that take place at an unspecified time are gathered under "??? BA" section.

Please note again that due to lack of information concerning the timing of events following Arc 5, the dates given here are potentially a subject of change or debate.

Unknown/Antiquity

??? BA

  • Od Lagna appeared as a mass of mana located at the heart of the world. From it, various races were born.
  • A spirit was born and befriended a villager named Melakuera. Sometime after he died, the spirit, having become self-aware, took on the name Melakuera and eventually became the Great Spirit known as the Arbitrator, using his authority to maintain the world's balance and keep the world from meeting its demise.
  • Zarestia was betrayed by humanity and mutilated by them, resulting in her losing a vast majority of her power. She eventually managed to escape the mutilation and slaughtered everyone involved.
  • Odglass, the Spirit Beast, moved north to reside on Mountain Pardochia in what would become the Holy Kingdom of Gusteko.
  • Toska died peacefully, at over 165 years of age.
  • The Elven population moved to Elior Forest.
  • Fortuna's brother and Emilia's father was born.
  • Fortuna inherited the role of the Guardian.
  • For unknown reasons, Hector became the Valiant, and the Witch Factor of Melancholy was tailor made for him. However, he was unable to avoid corruption by the Witch Factor, and he became the Warlock of Melancholy.
  • The Saintess was given the Witch Factor of Vainglory, which was tailor made for her. However, she was unable to avoid corruption by the Witch Factor, and she became the Witch of Vainglory.
  • Pandora, the current generation's Witch of Vainglory, was born, came in contact with the Witch Factor of Vainglory, and started acting in tandem with the Witch Cult, presumably before the Great Calamity.
  • Regulus Corneas was born, obtained the Witch Factor of Greed, slaughtered his family, village, and neighboring cities, joined the Witch Cult, and became the Sin Archbishop of Greed.
  • Sirius Romanée-Conti was born, came in contact with the Witch Factor of Wrath, joined the Witch Cult, and becomes the Sin Archbishop of Wrath.
  • Capella Emerada Lugunica was born, came in contact with the Witch Factor of Lust, joined the Witch Cult, and became the Sin Archbishop of Lust.
  • Lye Batenkaitos and Roy Alphard were born while their sister, Rui Arneb, died at birth along with their parents. Via unknown means, Rui's soul gets stuck in the Corridor of Memories. Later, they came in contact with the Witch Factor of Gluttony, joined the Witch Cult, and became the Sin Archbishops of Gluttony, with Rui eventually finding a way to meet her brothers via her possession technique.
  • Capella began selecting "children" to do her bidding and made herself known to them as "Mother", though it is unknown if her children are in a structured organization or if they are loosely scattered across the world, waiting for her orders.
  • Arakiya was born somewhere around 20 years BA.
  • The Mad Prince, Vague Adgard, was born at an unknown point in time.
  • Dartz was born at an unknown point in time.
  • Reisel was born at an unspecified point in time.
  • Iris, and her future incarnations, Sandra Benedict and Yorna Mishigure, were born at unknown points in time.
  • Viva was born at an unknown point in time.
  • A previous Vollachian emperor named Lake Penelope after his lover, Penelope.
  • A previous Vollachian emperor, Murkia Vollachia, attempted to use Yang Magic to improve his army's power, leading to one of the country's most devastating defeats in history, leading to the emperor becoming known as the Emperor of the Great Defeat. If not for Viva slaying the enemy commander, the battle would not have been won.

Early History

1000+ BA

  • The first of the Four Great Nations, Vollachia, was founded.
  • Odglass made a contract with an individual who would come to be known as the first Holy King of Gusteko, founding the Second Great Nation. Odglass forever on became the sole decider of Gusteko's royal succession.

Approximately 1000 BA

  • The Lugunica dynasty was founded at least a thousand years ago. The Kingdom of Lugunica was soon founded on the eastern regions of the continent, almost immediately coming into conflict with the Empire of Vollachia to its south.

Middle History

400+ BA

  • Sekhmet, who would come to be the most recent Witch of Sloth, was born.
  • Echidna was born as the most recent Witch of Greed.
  • Carmilla, who would come to be the most recent Witch of Lust, was born.
  • Minerva, who would come to be the most recent Witch of Wrath, was born.
  • Daphne, who would come to be the most recent Witch of Gluttony, was born.
  • Typhon, who would come to be the most recent Witch of Pride, was born.
  • Satella, who would come to be the most recent Witch of Envy, was presumably born around this time.
  • Reid Astrea was born into the Astrea family, later to be House Astrea, later becoming the First Generation's Sword Saint.
  • Flugel arrived in the new world after being summoned from Japan.
  • Puck was born roughly 420 years BA. At an unspecified point in time, Echidna made him into her first Artificial Spirit.
  • Eridna was created by Echidna as her second Artifical Spirit.
  • Beatrice was created by Echidna as her third Artificial Spirit.
  • Al was born.
  • The political entity of the Kararagi City States was founded by Hoshin of the Wilderness with the help of the Witch of Greed. He introduced many things similar to Japanese culture to the country, such as traditional Japanese architecture, dishes, attires, and weapons.
  • Constructed using ancient magical techniques, the Watergate City of Priestella was founded by Hoshin of the Wilderness on Lugunica's border with Kararagi.
  • Volcanica presumably blessed the grounds of the city of Flanders in Lugunica. The first earth dragons were born.
  • Reid Astrea set a new record of consecutive undefeated victories in Ginunhive.

Early Modern History

Approximately 400 BA

  • For reasons unknown, Flugel assisted Daphne in the creation of the Witchbeast Shaula.
  • The Witch Cult was founded by Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti and one or more unnamed individuals.
  • Echidna met Altair Mathers and saved his life.
  • Toska sought Echidna's help in defeating Fargall and started his journey alongside Beatrice and Puck.
  • Toska defeated Fargall, and Echidna slaughtered an army of Silver Dragons and made the remaining ones surrender.
  • Toska married Remina at an unknown time in the future. During the festivities, Puck set out, telling Beatrice that he would return once he found the one he was searching for. After that, Toska made a vow with Beatrice, telling her that he would one day repay his debt to her.
  • Shortly after, Altair Mathers was taken to Echidna's mansion, as she wanted him to study magic there. He soon took control of his household and changed his name to Roswaal A. Mathers.
  • Reid exterminated a vast majority of the Dragon population.
  • Sekhmet slaughtered most of the Giants for unknown reasons.
  • A party composed of Flugel, Satella, Echidna, Farsale Lugunica, Reid Astrea, and Alec Hoshin set out on a journey to save the world.
  • The "world saving" party visits the great nation Magrizza, where their identities are discovered and Echidna is nearly made the wife of the crown prince. However, after Reid and Volcanica rampaged in the country, the wedding was called off, and the party was exiled from the country. Shortly after, Magrizza was felled by the Black Serpent.
  • Echidna created the Sanctuary, located deep in the Lost Forest of Kremaldy, where different demi-humans could find refuge from the outer world.
  • Echidna and Roswaal A. Mathers spent an unknown number of years gathering half-bloods in the Sanctuary.
  • Ryuzu Meyer was brought to the Sanctuary by Echidna.
  • Echidna taught Al how to use his Authority, despite the objections of the other Witches. Eventually, they set out on the task she had for him, to which he failed, losing his left arm, and she was heavily injured. He was then sealed for the next four centuries.
  • The Witch of Envy began her rampage, kickstarting the apocalyptical event known as the Great Calamity. Starting from an unknown date and unknown location, the Witch irrationally began destroying the world around her, collapsing most of the old civilizations and killing untold numbers of people. Her actions also permanently shifted the geography of the world.
  • The Great Sage Flugel, with the combined strengths of the Divine Dragon Volcanica, and the first Sword Saint Reid Astrea, attempted to kill the rampaging Witch of Envy. However, because the Witch was unable to be slain, she was instead sealed away within the vast expanse of the Augria Sand Dunes in eastern Lugunica. Flugel took it upon himself to build the great Pleiades Watchtower and ensure that the Witch would never be freed again.
  • The Sanctuary was assaulted by the Warlock of Melancholy, who was in pursuit of the Witch of Greed. However, the Witch was able to evoke a barrier in time to fend him off thanks to the sacrifice of Ryuzu Meyer, who sealed herself into a mana crystal as the barrier's core. Roswaal A. Mathers suffered severe and crippling wounds during the face-off.
  • Echidna gave Beatrice a replica of her Book of Wisdom, made a contract by entrusting her the Forbidden Library, and told her to wait for someone suitable to inherit her knowledge dubbed "That Person" in the case she didn't return.
  • Shortly after, Beatrice linked the Forbidden Library to Roswaal Manor through Door Crossing and locked herself inside it. She then noticed later that her Book of Wisdom stopped recording her future for unknown reasons.
  • Echidna began to experiment with immortality with the Ryuzu Meyer copies. The very first and mentally broken Ryuzu copy, named Sphinx, was involuntarily created, as Echidna failed the first attempt of transferring her soul into a vessel. Sphinx then later somehow managed to exit sanctuary while the barrier was up.
  • One by one, the Witches of Sin died off. Minerva went crazy in a trap and died, Carmilla was burned to death, Daphne withered away in the Augria Sand Dunes, Typhon drowned in Priestella, and Sekhmet died after falling from the Great Waterfall whilst fighting against Volcanica. Echidna collected all their souls and released them into her Sanctuary before she was ultimately sealed off in Sanctuary by Volcanica. Echidna died shortly thereafter.
  • Reid Astrea passed away due to old age. The Sword Reid was passed down to the next Sword Saint. Somehow, the Divine Protection of Sword Saint was created and passed down to the next Sword Saint.
  • The Great Sage Flugel ordered Shaula to protect the Pleiades Watchtower. Sometime later, Flugel entrusted Petelgeuse with a box containing the Witch Factor of Sloth.
  • Lugunica and its southern neighbor, the Vollachia Empire, were once again at war. The King of Lugunica at the time, Farsale Lugunica, formed a covenant with the Divine Dragon Volcanica, binding Volcanica to protect the kingdom from any and all external threats, thus leading to the end of the conflict.
  • At some point in this time, Volcanica made its dragonkin Clind, and Volcanica chose to reside at the top of the Pleiades Watchtower while Clind went to serve Roswaal.

Between 370 and 400 years BA

  • Roswaal A. Mathers managed to discover how to transcribe his soul into his descendants.
  • Roswaal A. Mathers suddenly died on the verge of his thirties.
  • Roswaal possessed his son, Roswaal B. Mathers, and thus kicked off his 400-year-long chain of possessions.

Around 300 BA

  • After meeting the village girl Iris, Eugard Elcanti begins his bid for the throne in earnest.
  • Eugard defeats all of his siblings in the Imperial Selection Ceremony.
  • Iris is cured of her Battle Craze Syndrome, but she begins to be subject to Eugard's Curse of Thorns as a result.
  • Prior to his coronation, he is betrayed by the Nine Divine Generals and Whitaker Goldario, the victory contractor who had supported him throughout the Imperial Selection Ceremony. Because of this, Eugard slays each of the generals personally, as well Whitaker.
  • Iris's teacher, a mole human named Lynek, assists her with intaking poison to continue meeting with Eugard. Shortly thereafter, one of Eugard's allies, a wolf human named Volcas, kills Iris, and as a result, he orders the execution of all wolf people and mole people, a decree that would persist for 300 years.
  • At some point, Eugard cast the Soul Marriage Curse on Iris’s soul, and she was forced to reincarnate as someone new without ever forgetting her past lives.
  • Eugard’s and Iris’s tragedy become immortalized in the story Iris and the King of Thorns.
  • At some point, Eugard has the bastions of Lupugana built and shaped into that of a star.

Around 250 BA

  • Toska was brought to the Forbidden Library by Roswaal D. Mathers in an attempt to free Beatrice. Toska wished to repay his debt by ending Beatrice's everlasting solitude, but she clung to her contract and kicked him out, resulting in both Roswaal and Toska's failures.

Near Modern History

Roughly 120 to 130 BA

100 BA+

  • The Kingdom of Lugunica and Kararagi broke into war over the Watergate City of Priestella. The war resulted in Lugunica's control of Priestella.

Around 100 BA

  • The Sin Archbishop of Greed, accompanied by the Witch of Vainglory, attacked Elior Forest in search of the mysterious Seal deep within the woods. The Witch directed Black Serpent to the forest to aid their attack, resulting in massive casualties in the Elven population. The Radical Faction of the Witch Cult, present on Regulus' command, launched an attack simultaneously, further devastating the Elves. The assault ended when a young half-elf named Emilia froze the entire forest in a sudden uncontrolled rage. The forest, Emilia, and all of the remaining elves were left frozen in ice for nearly a century.
  • Petelgeuse Romanée-Conti took in the Witch Factor of Sloth and was therefore granted the title of the Sin Archbishop of Sloth.
  • Archi Elior was killed by the Black Serpent during the attack.
  • Fortuna was accidentally killed by Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti during the attack.

Between 40 and 100 BA

  • Stride Vollachia was born, came in contact with the Witch Cult, and joined the organization after being given the Seat of Pride.

Around 79 BA

  • Stride Vollachia was born. An unknown number of years later, he met Petelgeuse, came upon the Witch Factor of Pride, and became the Sin Archbishop of Pride.

  • A Royal Princess of the Kingdom of Lugunica, Emerada Lugunica, died at a young age due to a mysterious disease. She never received a proper public burial as she was heavily disliked by her nation, due to her cruel and sadistic personality.

48 to 40 BA

  • A near decade long civil war, straightforwardly named the Demi-Human War, began in the Kingdom of Lugunica between the long disadvantaged and discriminated against minority of demi-humans and the human majority that dominated the affairs of the country. Initially starting as a conflict between the rebelling Demi-Human Alliance and the Royal Lugunican Government, the stalemate between the two and the growing animosity would eventually devolve into a guerilla-fought ethnic conflict, leading to untold numbers of soldiers and civilians being slaughtered.
  • Fribal, Thames, Carlan, and Casilles were slain on the battlefield.

46 BA

  • Battle of Redonas Plateau. Despite heavy losses, including that of a foolish noble commander, the Royal Army was able to defeat the Demi-Human Alliance with the deaths of two of its commanders. This marked the first battle the Wilhelm Trias and Grimm Fauzen participated in, and they were scouted shortly after for the Zergev Squadron.
  • Battle of Castour Field. Demi-Humans ambushed and routed the Royal Army in one of the first major engagements of the war. An entire squad was wiped out with the exception of two soldiers, one of them being Wilhelm, due to him following his intuition and pushing forward.
  • The Zergev Squadron and Roswaal J. Mathers investigate the battlefield and are ambushed by Sphinx and her corpse soldiers. Though she escaped, the squadron emerged victorious. Sphinx is labeled a Witch shortly after her existence is revealed.

43 BA

  • Battle of Aihiya Swamp. Demi-Humans destroyed three human armies in the largest and deadliest battle of the war, including a majority of the Zergev Squadron and its vice commander Pivot Arnancy, yet Libre Fermi also died by the hand of his ally and was made a corpse soldier.
  • Sometime later, as the Demi-Human Alliance began causing havoc throughout the country, Valga Cromwell, Sphinx, and the undead Libre Fermi initiated their Invasion of the Royal Castle, which was intercepted by the Zergev Squadron and Roswaal J. Mathers. Valga and Libre were defeated, and Sphinx was abducted in secret by Leip Barielle, giving Roswaal a special necklace to convince her.

42 BA

  • Battle of the Trias Domain. Shortly after being knighted and being named the Vice Commander of the Zergev Squadron, Wilhelm learned of a potential attack on his homeland, and he abandoned the military to fend them off. Theresia van Astrea, in order to save him, picked up her sword and killed over 1000 demi-human soldiers in the battle. Following this, Wilhelm disappeared from the public in order to force Theresia to stop wielding her sword while Theresia joined the war in his place, turning the tide in favor of the humans.

40 BA

  • Two years after she joined the war, the Demi-Human War came to an end with the Second Battle of Castour Field. At the Sword Saint Ceremony held in honor of Theresia's contributions in the war, Wilhelm Trias returned to “save” Theresia van Astrea from the potentially tainting life of being the Sword Saint. He proposed to her via a sword duel, of which he was victorious.
  • Wilhelm and Theresia married sometime in the weeks following their duel and Gionis Lugunica absolved Theresia of her role as the Sword Saint, allowing her to put the sword aside.
  • Bordeaux Zergev stepped down from his position as Captain of the Zergev Squadron and promoted Wilhelm to the rank of the Squad's Captain.
  • A secret organization known as the Six Tongues was created, with Orphe becoming its Director.
  • During Theresia and Wilhelm's honeymoon in Picoutatte, the group, consisting of the two, Carol Remendis, and Veltol Astrea, were attacked by Stride Vollachia and Kurgan. What followed would become known as the famous Silver Flower Dance of Picoutatte.

39-38 BA

  • Stride began a campaign of secretive movements against the Dragon Kingdom of Lugunica. At first in secret, as mentioned before, and then in earnest once the Sword Saint Theresia van Astrea was confirmed to be pregnant. The incident culminated in the summoning of the Blight Dragon, in which the city of Picoutatte was nearly destroyed. The attack ended with the intervention of the Divine Dragon Volcanica for the first time in centuries. The event was remembered in history as the Subjugation of the Blight Dragon.
  • Veltol Astrea, Theresia's father, was killed by Carol Remendis, who was under the control of part of Stride's Authority, during Stride's attack on the Astrea Manor. The pregnant Theresia was kidnapped and brought to Picoutatte alongside Carol.
  • Shasuke and Raizo, two of Stride's assassins, were killed during the attack.
  • Razak Gildark died during the battle while trying to save Rickert Hoffman from the crowd stampede.
  • Stride Vollachia and Melinda were killed by the Blight Dragon Valgren.
  • Valgren was purified into ash by the Divine Dragon Volcanica, who Clind had gone to temporarily take control of its husk to uphold the covenant.
  • Kurgan was tried for his crimes against the Vollachia Empire but was pardoned of all his crimes due to his title of Vollachia's Strongest.
  • Wilhelm became the Captain of the Royal Guard.
  • In the months following the Subjugation of the Blight Dragon, Heinkel Astrea, the future Vice Captain of the Kingdom's Royal Guard, was born.

Contemporary History

34 BA

  • Kingdom of Lugunica set up the titles of the "Blue", the "Yellow", the "Green", the "Red", the "Black" and the "White" that are bestowed to the one considered most skilled at utilizing water, earth, wind, fire, yin and yang magic respectively.

Around 32 BA

  • Priscilla's brother, Rommel, was born.

30 BA

  • Chesha Trim, who later took the name Chisha Gold, was born.

25 BA

  • Vincent Vollachia was born.

23 BA

  • Elsa Granhiert was born in Gusteko. Due to her black eyes and hairs, she was sold to the slave merchants by her parents. But fortunately, she escaped with other kids before she was sold. Then, she wandered on the road and made a living by stealing.

22 BA

19 BA

  • Felix Argyle was born. Because of his demi-human traits, his parents thought he was the result of an affair and mistreated him.

18 BA

  • Aldebaran appeared in Ginunhive and became a gladiator.

17 BA

  • Al came to the Gladiator Island and became a gladiator.
  • Ram and Rem were born in the Oni Village near Lugunica's border with Kararagi.
  • Louanna Astrea fell into what was known as a Sleeping Beauty state for unknown reasons, though it was somehow caused to Reinhard.

15 BA

  • Otto Suwen was given a note and pen by his brother, and was taught by him how to write and communicate.
  • Following Roswaal K. Mathers's death, Roswaal L. Mathers inherited the family name and was possessed by the original Roswaal A. Mathers. The King held a ceremony in the Royal Castle in order to honor the deeds of Roswaal K. Mathers.
  • In the following week after the aforementioned ceremony revolving around House Mathers, Heinkel, with the help of Reinhard, managed to convince Marcos Gildark to rejoin the Royal Guard after the latter defected and formed a group known as The Brotherhood.
  • Felt was born around that time to a yet-unnamed mother and father.

14 BA

  • Ricardo Welkin was taken into a slave and was forced to mine. He often beaten due to his constant resistance against guards. When he was prepared to die, he met Reisel, who saved him from beating (it was proven later that the guards were actually bribed by Reisel). Reisel asked for Ricardo's protection in exchange. Later, Reisel started a breakout with some other slaves but he didn't invite Ricardo, which caused a serious beating of Ricardo. Ricardo eventually got rid of his slave identity using his own force.
  • The Sword Saint, Theresia van Astrea, joined by a company of knights, was sent to subjugate the White Whale that had appeared in the country around that time. However, the mission ended catastrophically, and Theresia was not among the few remaining survivors to return. This would later be remembered as the Great Conquest.
  • Reinhard van Astrea became the current generation's Sword Saint at the age of 5. His inheritance of the Divine Protection of the Sword Saint came at a rather unfortunate time, as the sudden transfer of power resulted in his grandmother and previous generation's Sword Saint losing her powers mid-battle with the White Whale, unintentionally leading to her death.
  • Someone with the appearance of Ford Lugunica met with Valga Cromwell and entrusted his infant daughter to the old giant. This infant became Felt.
  • Fillole Lugunica, the infant daughter of Ford Lugunica, the brother of the 41st king Randohal Lugunica, was kidnapped by thieves who had snuck into the castle undetected. The child was never recovered. Supposedly, an unknown individual within the elite Royal Guard had allowed the intruders to escape just as they were about to be caught. The incident and even the existence of the child was not publicly known, but the kidnapping of the royal baby would have major consequences within the internal society of the Royal Guards. It was one of few events not recorded in the Dragon History Stone.
  • On the night of the incident, Heinkel perpetrates a betrayal, as well as a mistake that rendered said betrayal pointless. The repercussions of this caused Heinkel's body to become immeasurably durable.
  • Simultaneously with the events of the Great Conquest, the Royal Guard's captain, Wilhelm van Astrea, led the search for Ford Lugunica's missing daughter, Fillole. The mission ended in failure.
  • Wilhelm left the Royal Guard, prompting Marcos Gildark to take his place instead, becoming the new and current Captain of the Royal Guard.
  • The Miracle of Abellux, a rebellion that had begun with a vassal of the House of Abellux betraying their long-lasting patronage by conspiring with another family, was suppressed by the eleven-year-old Vincent Abellux.
  • In the garden party held by Drizen Vollachia on his birthday this year, Lamia Godwin found Prisca Benedict in her search for Vincent Abellux. Prisca was with Vincent at the time. It was the first time Lamia met Prisca.
  • Three months later, a mid-count of House of Godwin started a rebellion and around half of the territory were taken. Lamia Godwin made the head of the house resign and took the power upon herself. She used tactics to defeat the mid-count and revealed the mastermind behind him. Eventually, the mid-count was killed. In this suppression of rebellion, Lamia formed the Pruning Corps, her private army.

13 BA

  • Disturbing rumors about House Argyle, concerning the alleged abuse and torture of Ferris by his own father, Biehn Argyle, were investigated by Duke Meckart Karsten and his daughter, Crusch Karsten. The result of the investigation led to the Argyle family being ruined, losing all of their territories and assets, save for one piece of uncultivated land, which effectively stripped them of their nobility. Felix Argyle was then adopted by House Karsten.
  • Chesha Trim met Vincent Abellux in an incident and started to serve under him. He changed his name to Chisha Gold.

12 BA

  • To find the father for Garfiel and Frederica, Reala Thompson went out of the Sanctuary. But she came across a landslide outside the Sanctuary and lost her memory, while Garfiel and Frederica thought she was dead. Garfiel started to become scared of the outside world and didn't want people of the Sanctuary to come outside.
  • Mimi, Tivey, and Hetaro were abandoned by their parents and were adopted by Roshi Pearlbaton.
  • Ubilk came to the Gladiator Island by accident and became a gladiator.

11 BA

  • Julius Juukulius met Reinhard van Astrea for the first time.

Over 10 BA

  • The Sin Archbishop of Greed single-handedly destroyed the Fortified City of Garkla, which housed thousands of soldiers and the Vollachian hero Kurgan.

10 BA

  • To create a home for people in the Sanctuary when they leave, Frederica went to Roswaal Manor to work as a maid.
  • The last Oni Village was raided and destroyed by the Witch Cult. All of the residing Oni were massacred, with the exception of the Oni sisters Rem and Ram, who now reside in the domain of Roswaal L. Mathers. There, they are introduced to Clind and Frederica.
  • Garfiel went to the tomb of Echidna by mistake and experienced the trial. He couldn't bear the sorrow of seeing his mother's death and failed the first trial. Ryuzu Shima broke the rule and went inside to save him. She also experienced the first trial. Echidna thought it was a chance for revival, so she put a part of her soul inside Ryuzu Shima, and took 10 years to take over control.
  • At Banan, the second city of Kararagi, Ricardo Welkin saved a purple haired girl from slave merchants. Before they part ways, the girl said she would be the one who take off his collar and free him from the slavery in his heart. Later, Ricardo introduced her to a job in the bar. This girl is Anastasia Hoshin.
  • After working for a while, Chuden Agri saw the business talent in Anastasia and took her into his company. Once Ricardo knew about this, he joined the Chuden Company as a mercenary. He was also offered a new collar (with no control crystal) to signify his identity as the Hound.
  • Otto Suwen started to understand the meaning inside the voice he kept hearing since his birth. After some testing, he realized that he had a Divine Protection and told it to his brother Oslo Suwen. His brother told him to keep it a secret, but Otto's talk with his earth dragon was seen by his younger brother Regin Suwen. Regin later leaked it to his friends and Otto had to show his Divine Protection to prove that Regin didn't lie.

9 years and 6 months BA

  • Chuden asked Ricardo to capture thieves and bandits in the outskirts of Banan.
  • Anastasia Hoshin was captured by a thief and was taken to the Razcrew Bandit Company. Didorii, the head of the company, planned to sell her to the slave market to the north of Kararagi.
  • In the cell, Anastasia came across Mimi and Hetaro, who were also captured. They used the trio's Divine Protection of Trisection to send message to Tivey outside. Ricardo happened to see this message and realized it was Anastasia. He took his people for the rescue and killed Didorii. Anastasia, Mimi, and Hetaro were saved.
  • Since then, Anastasia took a liking of the trio and often visited Roshi to ask for them.
  • Serena Dracroy was sent as a representative of her father to Lugunica, but she was targeted by some assassins. Fortunately, Roswaal L. Mathers rescued her. This is also the start of friendship between the two. Later, Serena found out that the assassins were sent by her father.

9 BA

  • Sometime after the attack on the Oni Village, the surviving Witch Cultists attack proceed to make assassination attempts on Ram and Rem, culminating in a battle at House Miload that killed Dudley Miload and gravely injured his wife, Grace Miload.
  • On the same day, following the elimination of the Witch Cultists, Grace Miload died shortly after giving birth to her daughter, Annerose Miload.
  • Crusch Karsten went to the House Argyle to investigate the rumor that Felix was being mistreated by his parents. The result was that most of the territories and belongings of House Argyle were confiscated, leaving only the house and some wasted land. Felix was taken into the Karsten family, and some time later, after meeting Fourier, he began to go by the name Ferris.
  • Reisel came to visit Ricardo and asked for help for stealing a meteor inside a cart. Reisel and Ricardo ambushed the series of carts near a hill outside Banan, but they were interrupted by Shiroro Tonerico.
  • Ricardo fought against Shiroro while Reisel stole the cart and abandoned him. Later, Ricardo and Shiroro formed a ceasefire, and Ricardo eventually helped her take the goods back.
  • Anastasia inadvertently destroyed Reisel's plan. She exchanged the cart beforehand, so Reisel got nothing. At the cart, Anastasia met Eridna, an artificial spirit made by Echidna. Eridna was attracted to the potential of Anastasia and formed a bond with her.
  • Reisel came back to take the true cart, but he was defeated by Anastasia, Eridna, the Pearlbatons, and Ricardo.
  • After Reisel was defeated, Mother came to punish him. It is revealed that Reisel is a child of Mother and was ordered to take the Witch's legacy back. Capella didn't listen to his explanation and transformed him into something without limbs, eyes and ears.
  • Cecilus Segmunt starts to serve under Vincent Vollachia and met Chisha.

8 BA

  • One of Capella's children, Sithonia Featherrun, became the guinea pig of Holosseo Featherrun to obtain his curse doll technique for Capella. She became the first "sister" who survived the curse doll art while retaining her consciousness.
  • Elsa was caught by a shop owner when she tried to steal from him. He tried to assault her but was killed by Elsa using a shard of glass from a bottle of Granhiert. It was the first time she felt the warmth of steaming entrails.
  • Not long after, Elsa was sold as a slave for several rounds. Due to the death of many of her slave owners, her value keeps dropping, until Holosseo Featherrun bought her for his experiments of perfect curse doll.
  • Elsa made it through the trials of curse dolls and became the fifth and last "sister". They called Holosseo Father.
  • Holosseo started a battle for the perfect curse doll. The curse dolls fought each other to death and whoever survived till last is the perfect curse doll. He first talked with Elsa and told her to kill the second "sister" Ornea Featherrun, whom she had the best relationship with. But Elsa had no interest in becoming the perfect curse doll and killed Holosseo because she didn't want to listen to his persuasion.
  • Every sister became dumbfounded to find out Holosseo's death. To become the perfect curse doll, Sithonia faked Holosseo's living state and ordered all the other sisters to kill Elsa, but most of them were killed. Ornea didn't want to fight against Elsa, but Sithonia poisoned Ornea's amulet, which broke her heart and controlled her body. Ornea was eventually defeated by Elsa but was spared her life. However, due to the poison, Ornea was regressed into an infantile state.
  • Elsa started the final battle against Sithonia. Sithonia controlled all the failed curse dolls to attack Elsa but they were all killed. Sithonia herself, however, has no means to fight other than her ability to control others. After she knew the truth about Father's death, she realized that everything she did was just for nothing, so she asked Elsa to kill her to be free of Mother. Elsa granted her her wish.
  • After Sithonia's death, Elsa encountered Capella Emerada Lugunica in a snowfield. Capella threatened her with everyone close to Elsa and forced her to become her child. Elsa agreed and changed her name to Elsa Granhiert, deriving her new surname from the name of the fire wine that she used to cut a belly open for the first time.

8-2 BA

  • After Roshi's death, Anastasia and Ricardo started to take care of the cat human trio.
  • Later Anastasia freed Ricardo and paid up her debt using her own hand. Having been freed from his fetters as a slave, Ricardo pledged his allegiance to Anastasia, creating the mercenary group called the Iron Fang at some point in this time.
  • Anastasia started to work for the Ryuushika Commerce Company, during which she voiced her opinion concerning a small business deal, earning her work. Eventually, she bought the company with her amassed wealth and renamed it into the Hoshin Company.

7 BA

  • Puck unfroze Emilia in Elior Forest and began to act as her friend and mentor.
  • The incident that would be known as the “Day of Red Earth and Sky" occurred when Melakuera attacked Elior Forest in search of the “half-witch” Emilia. Puck protected her and battled Melakuera. Melakuera lost the battle and perished, with Puck becoming one of the Four Great Spirits.
  • At around that time, the Imperial Selection Ceremony kicked off, as the 76th Emperor of Vollachia, Drizen Vollachia, wasn't fit to rule, and was subsequently scorched to death by the Yang Sword Vollachia. His children started to kill each other for the emperor positions. The ceremony ended with Vincent Abellux as the victor and became the 77th emperor of the Vollachia Empire.
  • Rommel was burned to death by the Yang Sword.
  • Months before Vincent's victory, the Siege on the Abellux Castle by the forces of Vincent's rival Lamia Godwin and Prisca Benedict takes place. Prisca quickly betrayed Lamia and allied with Vincent. She challenged Lamia into a duel and subsequently scorched her with Yang Sword. Meanwhile, Cecilus Segmunt made his name known to the world by singlehandedly slaughtering the entirety of Lamia's private army, called the Pruning Corps.
  • During the Battle for Abellux Mansion, Arakiya ate and absorbed a portion of the Stone, Muspel, saving Vincent and Prisca's life.
  • Following Lamia Godwin's death, Berstetz Fondalfon joined Vincent's ranks, later becoming the Imperial Prime Minister.
  • Palladio Manesque was killed by Prisca Benedict sometime after the Battle of the Abellux Mansion.
  • Prisca and Vincent became the last surviving royal members. Prisca's servant and friend, Arakiya, made a deal with Vincent to spare Prisca's life. She helped him poison Prisca and faked her death to survive the Imperial Selection Ceremony. After Prisca was sent off to safety, Arakiya joined Vincent's faction.
  • Vincent Vollachia won the Imperial Selection Ceremony and became the 77th emperor of Vollachia. He quickly revived the Nine Divine Generals system after coronation and appointed the nine nine generals. The order in which the recent nine divine generals were appointed were Chisha Gold, Cecilus Segmunt, Arakiya, Groovy Gumlet, Goz Ralfon, Moguro Hagane, Balleroy Temeglyph, Olbart Dunkelkenn, and Yorna Mishigure. Olbart and Yorna's appointments faced a lot of criticisms.
  • Prisca changed her name into Priscilla and married with her first husband, Mid-Count Jorah Pendleton. They were invited by Serena Dracroy to watch the show in Gladiator Island in celebration of Vincent's coronation. However, Ubilk happened to plot the Ginunhive Armed Rebellion at the same time and tried to take Serena as a hostage. Priscilla took an interest and claimed she was Serena to become hostage instead. She then quickly figured out that Ubilk's true purpose was to make Vincent send out his Divine Generals and assassinate him.
  • Al didn't want to help Ubilk and was badly injured by Hornet. He then met the Divine General Arakiya who came to drop down the drawbridge. They then came to the control tower of the drawbridge and broke into fight against Hornet.
  • Among the commotion, Ubilk went missing, presumably through transport magic. Priscilla was saved by Balleroy and Miles sent by Serena. She then broadcasted to everyone in the island about the plan of Ubilk. Al used the poison on the corpse to kill Hornet. The drawbridge was lifted down and the revolt was suppressed. Al gave up on freedom, saying he didn't want any reward, and he kept staying as a gladiator.
  • Because of the broadcast, Priscilla's identity was exposed. She and Jorah were attacked by the army led by Goz and Arakiya for treason. Jorah was killed by Goz to cover for Priscilla's escape, while Priscilla was spared by Arakiya, who later announced her suicide. The escaped Priscilla was caught by bandits but was later saved by Balleroy and Miles sent by Serena.
  • To pay for Jorah's debt, Serena sent Priscilla outside the country in secret.
  • After some time, Ubilk came to serve under Vincent and became a Stargazer. To gain his trust, he burned his own Evil Eye.

A couple months later

  • Almost simultaneously, rebellions and insurrections started blooming all across the Empire, forcing Vincent to disperse the Nine Divine Generals throughout the Empire, leaving the Crystal Palace largely unguarded.
  • High Count Gaoran Peitiet committed treason against the newly crowned Emperor, using the absence of the Nine Divine Generals and the weakened defenses as an opportunity to try and seize the Crystal Palace. Having said that, his action was foreseen by Berstetz Fondalfon and the time of his revolt was foretold by Ubilk, so his forces were quickly defeated by the army led by Zikr Osman. The High Count later confronted Vincent, but he was killed by His Majesty's bodyguard Rowan Segmunt.

Within 7-0 BA

  • At an unknown point of time after this, Al escaped Ginunhive, donning his signature helm. By following after trails of the Witches, he finds himself battling Petelgeuse to drag out information, and he managed to find Echidna in the Castle of Dreams in the Witch's Graveyard.

4 years and 6 months BA

  • Otto Suwen inadvertently got involved in a love affair of a daughter in a wealthy family. To prove his innocence, he used his Divine Protection to know that the girl slept with 8 different men and said it out. The girl, Diadora Regundra, hired a killer to kill him and forced Otto to leave his hometown. He joined the company of his father's acquaintance and became a traveling merchant.
  • Todd Fang met Jamal Aurélie in the rebuilt Garkla. He was one of the leaders of the bandits in the city then and was planning to betray the bandits and use this credit to join the Imperial Army. But his plan was thwarted by Jamal by chance. However, he also had the chance to know his future fiancé, Katya Aurélie.

4 BA

  • Ferris was recommended by Fourier Lugunica into the Royal Treatment Center. He was a student under the "Blue", Garitch Fabless and quickly showed his talent in the water magic. However, Garitch was cursed to death by his student. Ferris found his killer in his funeral and revenged for him. Originally, Ferris was supposed to take over the title of "Blue", but he refused. Nevertheless, he took it over a few years later due to his desire to take on Garitch's patients.
  • Roswaal L. Mathers has already had the title of "Red", "Green" and "Yellow" by then. "White" and "Black" were empty.

3 BA

  • The Fourtour Plains in Lugunica was ravaged by the Great Rabbit and the surrounding villages were forced to evacuate. Duke Karsten and his retainers fought the witchbeast, but he sustained injuries. The 17-year-old Crusch Karsten arrived later with Ferris Argyle, along with another contingent of soldiers, and managed to drive the creatures out. This event greatly boosted Crusch's image in the Kingdom, prompting people to start calling her The Valkyrie.
  • Hannah Argyle, the wife of the ruined Biehn Argyle, suddenly died. Lord Argyle, already a pariah in Lugunican society, began to dive deeper into depravity with his illegal research into resurrection. It would only be much later when it was discovered that Biehn had brutally murdered his wife; the reason was unknown, but frenetic stab wounds suggested an intense argument of some kind.

2 years and 6 months BA

  • Crusch Karsten succeeded Meckart Karsten as the Duke of House Karsten, a mere six months after her 17th birthday and the incident involving the Great Rabbit.

2 BA

  • Ferris became a member of the Royal Guard via a recommendation by the Royal Treatment Center, as his Divine Protection of Water grants him incredible Healing powers critical to the operations of the military. His appointment to the Royal Guard was further influenced by a recommendation by his close friend, the 4th Prince of Lugunica, Fourier Lugunica.
  • Raid of Argyle Manor. Biehn Argyle was discovered to have been communicating with a foreign operative from Vollachia in order to obtain slaves for human experimentation. House Karsten once again took up the task of investigating House Argyle and the following events led to a clash at Argyle estate between the Karsten private troops and Biehn's corpse soldiers, the result of his resurrection experiments. Biehn briefly managed to complete the act of resurrection of his wife, only for her to strangle him to death. The last living person in the mansion, the sole maid Hannah Regret, locked herself in the room with Biehn and his wife as the mansion burned down in the aftermath of the battle. Miles tried to flee, but was killed by Reinhard van Astrea. The event was covered up and the residents of the Argyle manor were officially declared to have died by an accidental fire.
  • As with the case with the rest of the royal family, Fourier Lugunica fell ill to the mysterious epidemic. His father, King Randohal Lugunica, also became ill around this time. The royal family was effectively paralyzed.
  • All members of the royal family began to die en masse, starting with Zabinel Lugunica, who dies a month after contracting the disease.
  • Reinhard van Astrea was urgently dispatched to the Pleiades Watchtower in order to contact the Great Sage and find a cure for the disease that struck the royal family. He was unsuccessful, as he wasn't able to pass through the Sand Time.

Roughly 1 year and 6 months BA

  • Taritta Shudrak]]'s soul sister, Mariuli Shudrak, was about to die due to sickness. At her death bed she entrusted her Commandment towards Taritta and told her that a traveler with black eye and black hair would come to the Buddheim Jungle a thousand days later. He would be the ally of the "Great Disaster" that would destroy the emperor, so she must kill him to prevent the Great Disaster.

8 to 9 months BA

  • Prince Fourier Lugunica dies. With a final dream of marriage, he peacefully passed away in the lap of Crusch Karsten, the woman he loved. King Randohal Lugunica's death overshadows his, as they passed away on the same day.
  • The total extinction of the known Lugunican royal family led to the abolition of the covenant between the Kingdom of Lugunica and the Divine Dragon Volcanica and the potential power vacuum threatened to become a nationwide emergency. The Council of Wise Men, led by Miklotov McMahon, assumed control of the government and scrambled to deal with the issue of succession when Baron Leip Barielle announced that the Dragon History Stone had foretold of a process to choose the new monarch. Crusch was the first of five candidates discovered to have the qualifications to potentially be Lugunica's new ruler as signified by the Dragon Insignia.
  • After becoming a candidate, Ferris officially became Crusch's knight, with the both of them being very much influenced by the prince’s death. Later on, they encountered the Sword Demon Wilhelm van Astrea, now an old, though capable man, arguing with Bordeaux Zergev and invited him into her camp once he had been freed from jail in exchange for House Karsten's assistance in hunting the White Whale that killed his wife 14 years ago.
  • Priscilla Barielle, the daughter of late Vollachian Emperor Drizen Vollachia, and the young wife of the prominent Lord Leip Barielle, was discovered to be another Royal Selection Candidate. A tournament was held for her to choose her personal knight out of fifty. Surprisingly, a former gladiator at the Gladiator Island Ginunhive by the name of Aldebaran was picked, despite not finishing in the top four.
  • Shortly after, Leip became indisposed after mysteriously going into shock and later died. As the sole inheritor, Priscilla gained control over his territory. The domain miraculously prospered thanks to her divine luck and exceptional leadership abilities.
  • Looking to expand into the Lugunican market, Anastasia was in the middle of talks with the Juukulius family when it was discovered that she was eligible to participate in the Royal Selection. After being introduced to the nobles in the Royal Capital, she took Julius as her knight and began expanding the Hoshin Company into Lugunica.
  • Roswaal L. Mathers met Emilia and Puck. After Puck and Roswaal battled for what was said to be half a day, Emilia defused the situation and accepted Roswaal's invitation to his mansion after he showed her the Dragon Insignia and enticed her into joining the Royal Selection to “free the elves frozen in Elior Forest”.

4 to 5 months BA

  • A coup d'etat nearly occurred in Vollachia in which Vincent was briefly kidnapped from his throne by Lugunican diplomats, almost allowing conspirators Balleroy Temeglyph and Gramdart Holstoy to seize the throne. The plot was uncovered, and Vincent was returned to the Imperial title.
  • Ninth ranking Divine General Balleroy Temeglyph was defeated and killed in action by Julius Juukulius.
  • The Dragon Kingdom of Lugunica entered a non-aggression pact with the Sacred Vollachia Empire. This had not happened in centuries.

3 to 4 months BA

  • Roughly a month after the incident in the Empire, 1st ranking Divine General Cecilus Segmunt and the 4th ranking Divine General Chisha Gold entered the Kingdom's territory in search of Gramdart Holstoy, the culprit behind the failed coup. After several days of searching, Cecilus located the fugitive High Count and took him into custody.
  • The Kingdom's Sword Saint Reinhard van Astrea and the Empire's 1st Ranking Divine General Cecilus Segmunt held a sparring match, mimicking the Silver Flower Dance of Picoutatte. The winner of the duel was unknown. However, the Dragon Sword recognized Cecilus as a worthy opponent and Reinhard was permitted to fight the Blue Lightning with the Dragon Sword Reid. The duel went down in history as the Silver Flower Dance of the Sword Saint and the Blue Lightning.

2 to 3 months BA

  • Yorna Mishigure attacked a stronghold near Chaosflame because they tortured Tanza's sister, Zoey, to death and disgraced her remains. She killed most of the soldiers, but some escaped, leading her to begin a revolt. Coincidentally, the revolt began during a meeting between the Divine Generals and Vincent Vollachia, where they were discussing who should replace Balleroy. Yorna fought against Madelyn Eschart and the two came into a standstill. Yorna relayed a message to Madelyn: as long as the empire gave her the escaped soldiers, she would cease her rebellion.
  • Not long after Madelyn conveyed the message, the Imperial Army started to attack Chaosflame. Yorna fought Cecilus and Arakiya at the same time. Although they were the first and second of the Divine General, they couldn't defeat her in Chaosflame due to her Soul Marriage Technique. In the end, after Todd Fang and Jamal Aurélie assisted in turning in the remaining soldiers, the rebellion ended with Vincent ordering to hand Yorna the escaped soldiers.
  • The Emperor chose Madelyn Eschart as the new Ninth ranking Divine General of the Imperial Army, succeeding Balleroy, who had died two months prior.

Arrival/Start of the Main Story

0 AA

  • Natsuki Subaru suddenly appears in the Royal Capital of Lugunica.
  • On that same night, the Sword Saint Reinhard van Astrea intervenes in a fight between the infamous Bowl Hunter Elsa Granhiert, one of the Royal Selection Candidates, Emilia, a girl from the slums, and the boy who had been summoned the very same day. Furthermore, Reinhard makes contact with the fifth and final Royal Selection Candidate, the girl from the slums, named Felt. He takes her to a spare Astrea mansion located in the Royal Capital by force.
  • Wolgarm Incident. Less than a week later, Meili is dispatched to the Mathers Domain by an unknown figure. Meili makes contact with the Arlam Village, curses and kidnaps 6 children and releases a pack of Wolgarms into the surrounding forest by disabling the protective barrier put up by the Margrave. The Mathers household maids, Rem and Ram and servant Subaru, proceed to rescue the children. Soon after, the Margrave Roswaal L. Mathers arrives, killing the majority of the witchbeasts in the forest.

1 to 2 months AA

  • Roswaal's mansion is visited by the head of the Muse Company, Kiritaka Muse, and the Songstress Liliana Masquerade. The pair, alongside their bodyguards, members of the White Dragon's Scales, proceed to stay at Roswaal's mansion for roughly a week.

2 months AA

  • The day of the Royal Selection Ceremony arrives, and the five Royal Selection Candidates arrive to the Royal Castle. After the ceremony is finished, Subaru and Rem stay at Crusch's residence, while Emilia and Roswaal return home with the latter one immediately departing for the Sanctuary.
  • On their way back from the Royal Castle, Reinhard, Felt and Rom stop at the destroyed loot house, where they encounter Gaston, Rachins Hoffman, and Camberley severely beaten up. Felt decides to recruit them into her Camp.
  • The Witch Cult begins their activities once more, following the Royal Selection Ceremony and the revelation of one of the Candidates being a silver-haired half elf. The White Whale also makes its appearance after years of "hibernation".
  • The Emilia Camp, Crusch Camp, and Anastasia Camp form a temporary alliance, launching the joint-effort Subjugation of the White Whale, followed by a brief campaign to eradicate local Witch Cultists led by Sloth, known as the Subjugation of Sloth. Following the successful battle against the White Whale, the military convoy transporting Crusch, Rem and the wounded soldiers were ambushed by the Sin Archbishops of Greed and Gluttony. Every soldier, save for the units of the Iron Fang mercenaries are either killed or consumed by Gluttony. Rem gets her name and memories eaten, while Crusch gets only her memories eaten.
  • In the days following the successful subjugations, Emilia Camp returns to the Mansion. Two days later, Subaru, Emilia and Otto set off towards the Sanctuary.
  • The Great Rabbit makes its appearance in the Lost Forest of Kremaldy. Elsa and Meili return to the mansion roughly three to four days after the trio's departure from the Mansion, but are intercepted by Subaru, Garfiel and Otto. A fight breaks out, resulting in Elsa Granhiert's death, Meili Portrout's defeat and Roswaal's Mansion's destruction. Just before the mansion collapses, Subaru makes a contract with Beatrice and the two teleport back to the Sanctuary. Simultaneously, Emilia frees the Sanctuary by overcoming the three trials of the Witch of Greed. Upon Subaru's and Beatrice's arrival, Emilia and two fight the Great Rabbit, successfully managing to send the hoard to a different dimension with the usage of Al Shamak.
  • Roughly a week or two later, Natsuki Subaru is given the title of a Knight, making him one of the Kingdom's Knights and officially Emilia's Knight.

1 year and 2 months AA

  • The five camps meet in the Watergate City of Priestella in order to get more familiar with each other. Simultaneously, the Witch Cult attacks the city, with all its Sin Archbishops being present in the attack. The following battle in Priestella results in the death of Greed and the arrest of Wrath, with the Gluttonies and Lust escaping the city.

1 year and 4 months AA

  • Following the defeat of the Witch Cult in Priestella, Priscilla Camp is attacked by eleven Vollachian assassins as soon as she returns to her own mansion in Barielle Territory. Randomly deciding to go to Vollachia, Priscilla Camp sets off towards the Empire. Roughly a week later, while crossing the Kingdom's border with Vollachia via the Tigracy River, they're attacked by a group of river bandits, who turn out to be members of Serena Dracroy's personal army. They take Priscilla to Serena.
  • The Felt Camp leave Sirius in the Prison Tower, and that evening, Felt and Reinhard speak with Russell Fellow about the increase in heretic hunts following the sighting of a Witch in Gusteko, signs of a power collapse among the Kararagian mayors, and signs of a civil war in Vollachia.

1 year and 5 months AA

  • Emilia and Anastasia Camps set foot towards the Pleiades Watchtower, in order to meet the Sage and find a way to undo the damage done by Lust and Gluttony. The journey takes roughly two months. Upon arrival, the group is met by the Sage's Apprentice Shaula, but the Great Sage himself is nowhere to be seen. The Camps need to go through three trials once more, facing against tasks representing the three Old Heroes, the Sage Flugel, Reid Astrea and Volcanica. The three Sin Archbishops of Gluttony, Lye Batenkaitos, Rui Arneb, and Roy Alphard invade the Pleiades Watchtower alongside a large group of powerful witchbeasts. As in a year prior, Emilia solves the three trials and becomes the Administrator of the Tower. Ram kills Lye Batenkaitos and avenges her sister, while Julius defeats Reid Astrea and subsequently Roy Alphard. The remaining members of the expedition defeat Shaula. Subaru, Rem, and the amnesiac Rui are teleported to the Vollachia Empire.
  • In Vollachia, the trio entangle themselves in a conflict between the Empire and the former 77th Emperor Vincent. Subaru sides with Vincent, who with the help of the Shudrak Clan is able to quickly disperse the Imperial Army in the area by annihilating the military camp at the outskirts of the Buddheim Jungle.
  • After Subaru's disappearance, the remaining group, with Roy Alphard captured, returns to the Miload Mansion from the Watchtower where they form a rescue plan with Roswaal, waiting for additional reinforcements to return from Priestella. They also contact the Iron Fang for assistance.
  • Leaving Meili and Annerose at the capital, the Emilia Camp travels to Picoutatte to use Everlasting Darkness to smuggle themselves into Vollachia. After settling issues between Otto and Diadora Regundra and obtaining the assistance of the Suwen Company, they are led by the molepeople through Everlasting Darkness, where, after confronting Musica, Petra planned for a future meeting between his people and Emilia, and they managed to finally reach Vollachia.
  • After a discussion with the Council of Wise Men regarding the Pleiades Watchtower's conquering, the Felt Camp goes to investigate the tower, accompanied by Meili, to determine how to handle it in the future. After acquiring the information they needed, Ezzo Cadner and Flam Remendis remained at the tower while everyone else returned to the Royal Capital, and Meili was pardoned for her past.
  • Vincent, Subaru, Rem, Rui, and the Shudrak Clan manage to besiege and conquer the Fortress City of Guaral at the edge of the Buddheim Jungle under the control of the Second-Class General Zikr Osman. Zikr joins their faction. However, they're suddenly attacked by the 2nd Ranking Divine General Arakiya, although they are saved by Priscilla Barielle, and Arakiya was defeated. Following the attack, Todd Fang breaks Arakiya out of her jail cell, using Jamal Aurélie as bait.

1 year and 6 months AA

  • Intending to obtain the assistance of Yorna Mishigure, Subaru (as Natsumi Schwartz), Vincent, Medium O'Connell, Taritta Shudrak, Al, and Rui, who snuck aboard their carriage, went to Chaosflame. After a long conflict caused by Yorna's whims, Tanza's and Olbart Dunkelkenn's schemes, Chaosflame's residents standing against Subaru's party, and a battle between Yorna and Olbart, a great shadow emerged from Subaru's body, the Witch having finally found him after losing their connection due to the infantilization of Subaru's body, and it began to destroy Chaosflame from within the Crimson Lapis Castle, taking Olbart's arm in the process. After a drawn-out battle with the entire city and Yorna's even destroying the city to repel it, Tanza attempted to sacrifice herself to repel it, and the resulting blast made the shadow dissipate, and she and Subaru were sent to Ginunhive. As for the survivors, those on the "emperor's" side returned to Lupugana, and everyone else headed for Guaral to take refuge, Yorna deciding to side with Vincent.
  • Worried about Guaral becoming Vincent's new base, Berstetz Fondalfon sent Todd and Arakiya to slay the gladiators of Ginunhive. Meanwhile, he sent Madelyn Eschart to attack the town. Though the city took great damages, thanks to the arrival of the Emilia Camp, the resistance of the Priscilla Camp, and Rem and Flop O'Connell's decision to use themselves as pieces to stop the attack, Madelyn retreated.
  • Rumors of a "black-haired crown prince" spread throughout the country. Various uprisings began, requiring Berstetz and Chisha to send out the Nine Divine Generals to quell them and retrieve the "princes".
  • After facing multiple failed loops and reconnecting to the Witch of Envy, Subaru managed to obtain allies of all of the gladiators and soldiers of the Gladiator Island, including an infantilized Cecilus Segmunt, he convinced Gustav Morello to join him, and the Pleiades Battalion was formed. After scaring off Todd and Arakiya, the Battalion set forth on their march to Lupugana.

1 year and 7 months AA

  • After returning to Guaral, Vincent takes advantage of the Emilia Camp and Subaru's predicament to have them join the upcoming fights. Though there was turbulence due to Rui's presence, thanks to Al and Yorna's interference, things were quickly settled.
  • Roswaal and Ram meet with Serena Dracroy to attempt to obtain her assistance. Despite the small conflict after hearing that Subaru sided with the Rebel Army, they managed to make allies of Serena and her Flying Dragon Squadron.
  • Unable to quell the uprisings, the Imperial Army returns to Lupugana to defend the capital.
  • At some point in this time, after having left Roy at the Prison Tower, Anastasia and company met up with Halibel in Kararagi, who, after having investigated an incident revolving around the undead in Nanou, decided to go with the to Vollachia.

1 year and 8 months AA

  • The Battle for the Imperial Capital begins. Thanks to the efforts of the Rebel Army and the Pleiades Battalion, they were able to defeat Kafma Irulux, Gudda Dialmo, and Arakiya, and two of the bastions were completely destroyed, allowing Subaru, Tanza, Beatrice, Rui, and Idra Missanga to break into the capital to find Rem. As for Rem, having regained movement in her legs, she moved around Berstetz's mansion, where she freed and fed the imprisoned Goz Ralfon. Meanwhile, Vincent, with the assistance of Ubilk, managed to get into the Crystal Palace and confront Chisha. However, Chisha was killed shortly after by the newly arrived undead Balleroy Temeglyph.
  • With Sphinx's arrival and the start of the Great Disaster, the dead begin to rise, including a former member of the Nine Divine Generals and deceased members of the imperial family. Sensing the change, Moguro Hagane and Madelyn, in Mezoreia's body, return to the Crystal Palace, where, after Moguro retrieved Vincent, the two clashed. Olbart also made his retreat to the palace. Goz also arrived at the palace with Berstetz, where they witnessed Chisha's dead body and Lamia Godwin and her siblings rising, forcing them to retreat. Flung off of the colossus, Vincent was sent flying to the ground, where, after being saved by the Stargazers, he was reunited with members of the Nine Divine Generals, and he called for retreat.
  • Cecilus confronts Sphinx at the reservoir, which had been damaged and was causing flooding in the city. Though Cecilus managed to kill Sphinx, the Great Disaster did not end, and elsewhere, Sphinx rose as an undead herself.
  • Arriving at Berstetz's mansion, Subaru's group saved Rem and Flop from the undead, as well as the imprisoned black-haired crown princes. Todd, on the other hand, retrieved his fiancée, and he and Subaru were forced to become allies in order to escape the city. Despite this, when the two were forced to work together to lure away the malformed undead Izmail from the others, after dealing with him, the two clashed again. Emilia, who had followed after Madelyn when she flew away and began helping the fleeing citizens escape with her ice constructs, found Rem's group, and after letting them escape while taking Rem along with her, they managed to defeat the transformed Todd and escape the city.
  • Priscilla, Yorna, and Arakiya were found by the forces of the Great Disaster. This resulted in Priscilla being imprisoned, Yorna being held in the room being utilized by the undead Eugard Vollachia, and Arakiya being given a chance to devour the rest of Muspel in an attempt to save her. As everyone decided to retreat to Garkla via the coupled dragon carriages, Al stayed behind to save Priscilla, Cecilus stuck around the city, and Heinkel Astrea, depressed by his weakness and fear, was discovered by a wandering Rowan Segmunt. Elsewhere, Groovy Gumlet found himself on the run from numerous undead.
  • On the coupled dragon carriages, after settling a dispute between Subaru and Vincent, Lugunica and Vollachia, for the first time in history decided to temporarily ally themselves to face the Great Disaster. Likewise, the Anastasia Camp and Halibel, who had also arrived, decided to provide their asssistance as well. Afterward, Subaru confronted Rui, and deciding to give her a chance, he renamed her to Spica. Shortly after came an attack led by Sphinx, Lamia, and the Pruning Corps. However, thanks to the efforts of Spica, Berstetz, and the other various warriors, they managed to repel the attack and slay the undead.
  • After arriving in Garkla, everyone decided how to handle the Great Disaster. The majority of their offense would go to retake Lupugana while others remained behind to defend their current stronghold. Meanwhile, Al, Heinkel, Rowan, Cecilus, and Groovy were carving a path for Subaru's group to arrive, leading to confrontations with Balleroy, Yorna, Eugard, Madelyn (via Mezoreia), and Arakiya, who had lost control of her body after taking in the Stone.
  • The Conquest of the Undead Capital. By Subaru's lead, the group separated appropriately to handle their various opponents. This resulted in the defeat of Madelyn, Arakiya regaining control of her body, Eugard regaining control of his mind, the Curse of Thorns being removed from him, and him switching sides, Balleroy's defeat, Yorna assisting the living again, Izmail's defeat, and Sphinx nearly being killed. However, she also managed shift her vessel from that of Sphinx to the Witch of Greed. The conflict continued, and despite the many threats that tempted to destroy the country, after Priscilla joined the fight after killing herself with the Yang Sword and coming back as an undead, they managed to defeat Sphinx completely using Spica's Astral Eating.
  • After Subaru's group made for Lupugana, an undead force led by Palladio Manesque attacked Garkla, accompanied by Hornet and, later, an undead Sphinx. Though thanks to the efforts made in Lupugana, as well as the minds of Otto, Serena, and Berstetz and the sheer might of Goz and the Pleiades Battalion, the undead force were soundly defeated, with Sphinx crumbling and Palladio finding himself killed by Todd. The rest of the undead scattered across the country to go into hiding.
  • Following the Great Disaster's end, the Pleiades Battalion disbanded and were pardoned as former gladiators. Numerous people saw promotions, and Moguro was left with the recovering Groovy and Olbart while he had no access to his prior memories. Eugard, who was bound to fade away, and Yorna manage to convince Vincent to rescind the command to slay the wolf and mole people. Meanwhile, after meeting with everyone she needed to, Priscilla faded away before the eyes of Subaru and Al atop the walls surrounding Garkla. Afterward, the members of the three Royal Selection camps decided to return home. However, around this same time, Al started on his scheme to remove Subaru from the world, taking Heinkel on as an ally, preparing the hiding Yae Tenzen, and maneuvering the Emilia Camp members where they needed to be.
  • Searching for the thief who stole her Light Sphere, Zarestia attacked and destroyed half of Banan while confronting Ricardo, whose scent she mistook for the thief's. This event, which was later dubbed the Shinigami Disaster, subsided after Ricardo withstood a barrage of her attacks. Simultaneously, Anastasia learned of the attack while returning to report to the League of Cities, and she, Julius, and Eridna headed to Banan.
  • After Anastasia's group arrived, they interrogated Zarestia and discovered that the mayor Riften Magoji had gone missing, that Zarestia was a Great Spirit, that her Light Sphere was missing, and that she was not the one responsible for the other windstorms assailing the towns besides Banan. Shortly after, the group went to confront the tornado making its way to Banan's remnants.
  • Upon returning to Lugunica, Emilia and Otto left to report Priscilla's death to the Lugunican government, Rem and Ram returned to Roswaal Manor, Roswaal, Frederica, and Schult left for the Barielle Domain to handle the aftermath of their lord's death, and everyone else left for the Pleiades Watchtower. After an entire day spent there, Al tried and failed to seal Subaru, who had already undergone Return by Death and sealed Al away instead.
